COURSE BACKGROUND AND COURSE OVERVIEW:
New methodologies, effective motivation, cooperation, and evaluation strategies. This course has been created for teachers who want to learn more about managing an effective and up to date classroom that encourages participation and engaged learning using the latest techniques and classroom tools.
Teachers will learn more about managing a classroom through reflection, teacher observation, and case scenarios, which encourage discussion and resolution of the most common classroom problems. Through interactive and engaging activities course participants will share classroom strategies, learn how to establish classroom rules, provide clear instructions, monitor, develop rapport, incorporate pair and group work, and gain tips for encouraging students to reflect on their own classroom behavior. In addition, the course will include a discussion on what exactly a Flipped Classroom is and how this new teaching methodology can be organized, prepared, and put to use with the subject being taught. Finally, assessment and evaluation, which is also par t
of managing an effective classroom, will be addressed along with the incorporation of student portfolios, rubrics, and presentation strategies.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
During the course, participants will:

– understand and address students’ diversity during teaching
– learn techniques to maximize pupils attention and learning experiences
– examine routines, orders and practices that will improve teaching and learning

– visit sites, museums and monuments

CONTENT AND METHODOLOGY:
A positive, innovative learning environment in the classroom is main element for students’ academic, emotional and social success and progress. Teachers who design classroom ambiances that are supportive, caring, challenging, and strong build a positive learning environment.
Classroom management techniques; communication skills; effective strategies for teaching and learning; discipline methods; effective routines and ambiance are basic components of a positive learning environment in the classroom that stands for students to feel comfortable and safe; empower their motivation and education; and develop the sense of belonging.
This course gives participants theoretical background about how to build a positive learning environment, as well as practical guidelines to integrate activities and implement programs across the areas of curriculum and school life. Discussions, site visits and group work will empower sharing ideas and exchange of practice between participants.
